Something happened twenty years ago today that changed my life. I was a freshly turned 16 year old so I wonder what it could be? I got my driver's license on February 1, 1993.
It wasn't the first time I took my driver's test but the second. From what I understand, they don't let you pass your test when you take a left onto a one-way street, when it's really a two-way street. Automatic fail. (They still made me continue through the test though!) Boy, did that driving instructor feel bad for me as I sat there bawling my eyes out in the driver's seat parked on the side of the street (within 12 inches from the curb I'm sure!) as he told me I had failed. I could see it in his eyes as he told me there would be another time for me to take the test soon. My friend took me to Subway at the mall that night to help ease my pain. A six inch Cold Cut Combo probably helped a little.
Twenty plus years on the road. I've never been in an accident and I have had one speeding ticket. Not too bad.
I would have loved to show you my driver's license from when I was a brace face 16 year old girl but I can't. Why? Because my sister took my driver's license and burned it. We were mad at each other a lot back then.
What I can show you is my driver's life in pictures. Well, since 21 years old at least. (Thanks, pyro-sister!)

You've had some fun hair!
Ahh, the good ol' first driver's test!!! I also failed my first time on my 16th bday and didn't find out until the end. I had an 88 but also had an automatic fail for driving down the wrong side of the road. Oops!!!
