I have no empathy for someone who takes human life on purpose. I totally believe in an eye for an eye. If you drowned someone in a bathtub, you should also be drowned in a bathtub. That's a whole other topic.
How do you feel about the death penalty? For or against it? Do you think that each state should have the right to adopt the death penalty? Would you rather see someone stay in jail for a life sentence? Do you feel there are any other options for someone who is guilty of murder other than jail or the death penalty? Do you feel that lethal injection is the "best" way to kill someone? What other methods would you purpose?
I will link other TFT as they get posted.

I agree with you and eye for an eye... if you rape someone - you should be raped (and killed). If you kill someone - you should be killed! No excuses! I know there is a lot of cost involved in both life long jail sentences and death, but our jails are full enough with drug dealers and people who don't murder, but if there is no cost in throwing someone in a bathtub and drowning them!
I am not against it. I prefer to have people suffer and have to think about their crimes and deal with it every day. I almost think it would be harder for one to rot in prison for the rest of their lives vs. die instantly. I believe that some states still give a death row inmate the option of lethal injection, electricution or death by gun shots. I am a firm believer in Charma and believe that they will get theirs in the end. Odd topic - not in a bad way, just different.
I agree with you! Why waste tax dollars on someone who doesn't deserve any priveleges.
I could go on and on about this topic, esp with a minor in criminal justice. I mean, in certain circumstances I DO believe in the death penalty, but for the most part, I am against it. Only because... it wasn't right for them to murder someone in the first place, so why is it right for the people to "murder" them? As far as tax dollars, it costs more to execute someone than it does to keep them in prison for a life sentence. I won't continue, because I could probably write forever. Just my thoughts! :)
This one is tough for me. For a while I was a firm believer in an eye for an eye. But, what makes us any better than that person by sentencing the to death? I'm not too fond of tax dollars going to prisons to house criminals, but I think solitary confinement for life might just be the perfect punishment for them. I think I read an article once that the death penalty is more costly because of all the appeals that go along with it. That was a while ago though.
I can understand and respect both sides of the debate. I am personally against the death penalty for two reasons. The first being; two wrongs don't make a right. Taking a life because that person took a life just doesn't sit right with me. Second; only one innocent person being put to death for a crime they did not commit makes it 100% not worth it. For all of the people who were wrongly put to death and proven innocent after the fact, there are definitely more that will never be recognized. It can't be taken back. What if it were you sentenced to death for a crime you did not commit? It has happened before and it will continue to happen until the death penalty is outlawed. Now, I am all for harsher punishments. Harsher punishments generally equals less crime.
Good topic Dana. You rock! ;o)
