When it's nice out we take the motorcycle to the game because there's great free parking for bikes just a block away but once we arrived we realized all the free parking had been taken away and replaced with meters. Boo! Last Monday M and I went to the Twins game to see the Twins play the Boston Red Sox. The game time was changed from 7:10 to 6:10 to accommodate ESPN as this was the Monday Night Game. This could have been an important game for two players. First, Jim Thome was at 598 for the number of home runs he has in his career inching closer to 600 and Tim Wakefield, Red Sox pitcher was going for his 200th win of his career. Neither of them made it. The game started with the Red Sox having score the first run in the 2nd inning but the Twins three runs in the same inning. We'd go on to score a couple more through the next few innings, with my man Jason Kubel getting a home run and were winning 5-1 going into the 6th when everything went wrong. Boston scored four runs in the 6th , tying the game at 5-5, another run for each team in the 8th tying it 6-6 and then finally Boston scoring two runs in the 9th to make the final 8-6. We haven't seen many wins for the Twins this year, on or off the road so it was somewhat expected we'd lose but it was exciting to have that much action and runs in the game which made it interesting. We sat in our seats for the first half of the game and walked around watching the game from other perspectives for the rest.
| Note to Self: Call your buddy to see what he's wearing before you show up at the game together |
After the game, we went over to St. Anthony Main and stopped over to Tugg's for a drink before heading home. The night was just gorgeous. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the Minneapolis skyline. We didn't stay too long as we didn't have to work in the morning but we did have to get up early and take a day trip.

I don't think Steve and I have ever sat in our seats for a whole game yet! That place has so many great views to offer... we like to take advantage of 'em all!
